- 9th January Visa Immonen defended his doctor’s thesis “Golden Moments: Artefacts of Precious Metals as Products of Luxury Consumption in Finland c. 1200– 1600″ in Turku. His homepage has a bit more info on the subject, and it also has a link to the publisher’s, the Society of Medieval Archaeology in Finland, site where it’s possible to order the dissertation. The book costs 55 euros.
- Aboa Vetus museum in Turku is having a wonderful exhibition next autumn called Luxury – Medieval Bling Bling, that showcases history of accessories and ornaments from a touring Norwegian exhibition. Unfortunately the museum’s internet page tells nothing more at the moment.
